Journey Through a Land of Extreme Poverty: Welcome to America

This talk is based on the findings of Philip Alston, the United Nations special rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, who wrote on his observations in the US.  Despite the fact that we are one of the richest countries in the world, millions of US citizens continue to live in dire poverty.  This talk will describe the circumstances of these individuals and will then consider our obligations and strategies for addressing this human rights tragedy.
