Interfaith Action: Working Together Our Communities Can Reduce Poverty

Sarah Peterka will be sharing the mission of Interfaith Action’s three core programs: Opportunity Saint Paul, Project Home and Department of Indian Works. She will also be sharing ways in which you can volunteer within Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul. Interfaith Action’s mission is to harness the power of thousands of motivated volunteers from diverse faith and spiritual communities to relieve the effects of poverty and address its root causes.

Sara is the Director of Opportunity Saint Paul & Congregational Engagement at Interfaith Action since 2018.  In her position, she builds partnerships with clergy, community leaders and nonprofit partners.  She also is responsible for recruiting and supporting individual volunteers and houses of worship.  Sara earned her bachelor’s degree in youth and family ministry from Augsburg College in 2001 and a master’s degree in religious education and leadership from Luther Seminary in 2006.
