Social Justice – The UUA’s Involvement

Rev. David Pyle will speak on the history and current involvement of the Unitarian Universalist Association in social justice, including the principles, goals, strategies, resources and challenges of this aspect of Unitarian Universalism. Since the MidAmerica Region has a number of small congregations like Groveland Fellowship, he will share the experiences of those small congregations with us and recommend how we may successfully network for social justice.

Rev. Pyle is the Regional Lead and a Congregational Life Consultant with the MidAmerica Unitarian Universalist Regional Staff. Additionally, he serves as a U.S. Army Reserve Hospital Chaplain for the 865th Combat Support Hospital, with units throughout New York and Pennsylvania.

He holds a Masters of Divinity from the Meadville Lombard Theological School and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from East Tennessee State University. He has served as minister or as administrator to congregations in California, Michigan, Illinois, and Texas.
