Join Suzanne Savanick Hansen for a presentation and discussion of climate change and Saint Paul. Suzanne was an official observer to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)in Bonn, Germany in 2014 and took students to the UN climate talks in Paris in 2015 . She will discuss the international and local challenges posed by climate change and discuss what is currently underway to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the local level. Suzanne Savanick Hansen is the Sustainability Manager at Macalester College where she has worked to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and advance sustainability projects. She earned her Ph.D. in conservation biology from the University of Minnesota, a master’s degree in environmental management from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree in geology from Carleton College. She previously developed the Sustainable Campus Initiative at the University of Minnesota and worked for the Science Education Resource Center at Carleton College.
